Turkish Delight

Last of the fine days for a while so I made the most of it by getting a couple of loads of washing done - mundane I know but it's nice not having to use the dryer! I had to go and buy our little dog a dri-azabone coat today as he is freezing down in Mount Gambier and Emma was unable to get one down there - I hope it fits as it wasn't cheap. Good turn out at craft today we hadn't seen Kim and Sylvia for a few weeks so it was nice to catch up with them, Joyce is away - if you happen to look in Joyce I hope you are having a great trip!

The card I made this afternoon is for this fortnights {Lollipop Ladies } Challenge - Turkish Delight

Celebrate

Thanks for dropping in, I've been busy getting the washing done since I got home from work as hubby is going away for work for a couple of weeks, but I had to stop long enough to make my card for this weeks Less is More Challenge - hopefully there is enough white. I have matted  card on white background for the scan. The card stands up as I have used a black piece the same as the front folded in half and glued to the back of the card as a stand.

NOT A SQUARE
Nor a rectangle for that matter!
What we are really trying to say, is that we want a shaped card.

Birthday Wishes

A busy weekend, last night we had tea with a group of friends - at Fran & Kim's - they cooked woodfired pizzas in a woodfire pizza oven that Kim had made in the backyard - they were very yummy  - especially the dessert pizza made of cherry ripes and marinated strawberries - 10/10. Today we drove down to Port Elliott to see John's parents who are leaving for Queensland for three months later this week, called into some friends for a planning session - hubby John and 7 others are going to cross the Simpson Dessert in July, then home just in time for my parents to arrive for dinner - luckily we had put the crockpot on before we left home. I had time to check my computer and found that Sandy and I had made Top Picks for last weeks Come and Get it Challenge so that made my day.

However tonight's card is for this weeks Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge - Sketch

Best Wishes

A very wintery day, it has barely stopped raining since last night and our paper was unreadable this morning - the water had seeped into the plastic and it was absolutely soaked. Only two girls braved the weather to come to craft today, but the heater was on and we chatted and crafted. I made a card for this weeks Come and Get it Challenge and completed three from Shirley's Tuesday class from last week.

It's a Boy

I don't often get to enter two entries to a Challenge, but seeing I had the cuttlebug out I thought I'd make a card for a baby boy too, for this weeks

Welcome Alannah Hope

We had a great mystery weekend, we stayed at a place called 6 Gates at Lyndoch - Opposite Chateau Barossa. There were 16 of us spread out into the 2 accommodation areas - we stayed in The Loft - very sumptuous! Last night we had a black tie dinner and a wine tasting before dinner at the Chateau and today we lunched at a winery in the Adelaide Hills called Yangorra, wood fired pizzas and more wine. My friend Michelle who came down from Queensland for the weekend became a Nana for the first time to Alannah Hope so I was pleased to see this weeks challenge for Less is More was for a Baby or Child:

Vintage Parade

Second post for today, I was on a roll in craft so apart from chatting and afternoon tea I was able to get a second card made. We are off for a mystery weekend tomorrow so I thought I'd get both challenges entered today. I have to get my hair done in the morning, then we are off to who knows where - we are having a black tie dinner on Saturday night so we have to dress up! Friends from Queensland are coming down for it as well and they are staying here tonight so it will be great to catch up with them.

This card is my entry into this weeks Less is More Challenge

Thinking of You

Lovely mild day here in Adelaide, I went up to the supermarket this morning for a couple of things and the dress shop next door had a big sale so I came home with 4 tops and 2 necklaces as well as the bread and milk! I had a productive afternoon this afternoon making 2 cards for challenges and as I am away for the weekend I will post them both today - it's either a  feast or a famine with me lately!

Happy Mother's day

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day today, I woke up to a pancake breakfast cooked by daughter Emma and a phone call from son Matt who is a chef and started work at 8.30 as they were booked out for lunch and dinner. Emma flew back to Mt Gambier this afternoon so it was nice we got a little catch up time together, Matt and his partner Ash stopped by after work and my mum and dad came for dinner so all in all it was a lovely day, Hubby John had been away for a fishing competition and came home with a medal so he was happy too!

My cards today are for my mother and mother in law and were made at Shirley's on Friday, they are both made using a SU pre printed flourish card, the first has an image from Hampton Art, sponged around edges and sentiment stamped in SU Baja Breeze, the second has a stick on image, mounted, sentiment in SU Baja Breeze and rhinestones from stock. Both images are 3d.

Shirley's Workshops

After a busy start to the day, seeing John off on his fishing trip, Emma to her conference, me to various appointments, it was nice to settle down at Shirley's for an afternoon of crafting after an enthusiastic welcome from Twiggy! We made three lovely cards, chatted lots - we never seem short of conversation!!! I mentioned I was going home to make mother's day cards and  well that set us off again and I made two lovely mother's day cards as well which I will share with you in another post.
Tonight saw us visiting Koorong a Christian Bookshop for Emma to get some books and resources to use for her Christian Studies class - a beautiful shop with a coffee lounge and gift shop all in one.

If you would like to take a look at Shirley's blog for some great cards please follow the link here.

For You

Today we had our first craft group get together in ages, I have been away a lot (hence no posts) and Sandy has been in Tassie with her mum for a well deserved break! Daughter Emma is now well and truly settled in Mt Gambier and is getting used to the colder weather and working full time! I had a great five days with her and her house is looking really nice. I thought I'd better get a card made and enter  a challenge before I forgot how!! - I don't like this new blogger lay out but I guess it will grow on me.

Today's card is for this week's Less is More Challenge
Week 65 - Sketch.

We don't often have a sketch, but whenever we do it is always simple.
There seem to have been lots of layers creeping into submissions of late and in some cases a considerable lack of white space.
For this week's sketch we'd like you to keep to the proportions of this drawing so that there is considerable white space remaining in the finished card.

There were two sketches to choose from, this is the one I chose.
