Sundays at Shirleys

Welcome, I've had a busy few days buying more stuff Emma needs for Mt Gambier, as John left today for Melbourne - he has the Home Show there this week,  he thought he'd go via Emma's and drop some stuff off for her. I am flying down after work on Tuesday so we will have a few days of Mother / Daughter time!

Today I finally got to do some crafting -"hang the flags out"
I went to Shirley's for  a card workshop - I made three lovely cards which I have shared below. The first is an easel card which can be seen better on Shirley's blog as I have scanned mine.

Welcome, a glorious day here in Adelaide, perfect for getting the washing dry, going to the Beach - daughter Emma and visiting Shirley for a crafting session! Doug had already been for a ride before  it got too hot, so was ready for a snooze and Shirley worked on a new card whilst I made up the workshop cards and we nattered away - the time flies. Some lovely slice with a cup of tea before I headed home to do a little more tidying up. I hope wherever you are that your weekend has been great too.

After yesterdays stinking hot day it was a nice relief to wake up to a much cooler albeit still in the low 30's day. We had a lazy morning and then went for a BBQ lunch with friends - which lasted until early evening - a very pleasant way to spend the day. I hope you have all had a great weekend too.

Welcome and thanks for dropping by, I am sharing the cards that I made at Shirley's workshop on the weekend tonight. We had quite a prolific afternoon, making cards, making card packs up for Tuesday, die cutting and I finished off some of the cards from last weeks class. Doug went off for a long ride on the gopher and another lady popped in to placed an order. After Shirley's I met up with a friend for dinner and a movie - our hubbies are off fishing in Tasmania so we had the night to ourselves, we had a nice cocktail and oysters at The Bar on Gouger (Anita had a voucher) then went next door and had some yummy Salt & Pepper Eggplant and a Chicken Dish at East Taste, before heading off to the pics - we saw the new Reece Witherspoon movie and really enjoyed it, finished off the night with  a coffee at the cafe near the cinema - so all in all a well rounded day! I heard from John tonight - he's caught no fish and managed to break a rod - so all is not well in the Apple Isle.

Saturday at Shirley's

Well we certainly had a productive afternoon making four cards - only I went yesterday as Sandy was unable to come (usually we go on a Sunday). Lots of chatting, Doug was out on a marathon gopher ride to the Linear park, and another friend of Doug & Shirley's who likes card making also dropped by. I had the itches last night - drove me crazy so I had no sleep, scalp, eyes, body ears so I went off to the dr this morning, she thinks I am developing an allergy to the antibiotic I have been on so she has given me some strong tablets and prescription cream to try and reduce it until the antibiotic clears my body - here's hoping it works soon. Last night we went to see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy at the movies with friends, with dinner first - thank goodness for dinner the movie was very slow going and quite a few younger people walked out and didn't return - we kept waiting for it to get better - it didn't!

Welcome to new follower Merry - you can check out her blog here. Thank you for joining my little band of followers! A beautiful day here in Adelaide, I visited a craft garage sale and picked up some ribbon and buttons and then went to Shirley's for craft - just the two of us today as Sandy was baby sitting her grand daughters. We chatted and crafted and had a couple of cups of tea and the time just flew - we finished off by doing some punches and die cuts for stock and for Shirley to send off to a friend. Tonight we had had my parents and a friend of theirs from South Africa for dinner so we had a roast, yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings - yum!

Just a quick post today to show what Sandy and I made at Shirley's workshop this afternoon, it's been a pretty exhausting week and we have to call in and see my parents as my brother and his family are visiting so we can have a quick catch up. When I got home my daughter was making fake blood as all the staff at her work are dressing up for Halloween! They are not open tomorrow night - so they are getting in the spirit (pardon the pun) tonight.

Another lovely day - although a cool start, Sandy and I went off to our Sunday Workshop at Shirley's; making three lovely cards and having a nice cup of tea and cakes! Then we helped Shirley with her computer before heading home. I managed to dead head the roses and cut back my triffid of a hibiscus before heading off to my parents for dinner - it was great to catch up and see the photos from their trip overseas. John rang while I was there - he and a friend are on a boating trip and they had just made a loaf of bread in the camp oven when he rang!

Lovely day here in Adelaide, my friend Sandy picked me up and we went to Shirley' s for an afternoon of crafting - it doesn't get much better!! Busy, busy , busy and now hopefully time for a sit down! I've been to a High Tea for a friend's birthday - although our sitting was 12.30 - 2.30 so it was more like late lunch and then off to the other side of town to Shirley's for a card workshop - just Shirley and I today - still lots of chat and Doug was very chatty too which was nice,  they've had a busy week with Michelle and family visiting from Queensland - it was nice to meet them too - a revolving door this afternoon at Shirley's! Then I came home and did the ironing as John is off again tomorrow to the Paskeville Field Days.

Thanks for dropping by,  another gorgeous day here in Adelaide, yesterday at Middleton we got to see six whales frolicking in the water and while we had lunch at The Flying Fish Cafe at Port Elliot there were children in the water swimming - and it's still winter!!!! Hubby John arrived home from Manila this morning, he'd finished his work so managed to get an earlier flight home, so I picked him up, put his washing on and went off to Shirley's for our craft workshop with Sandy.-  her hubby Adrian is also home from work interstate at the moment - so we felt a teeny bit guilty heading off (only a teeny tiny bit!!). Doug was off gallivanting around the suburbs in his gopher when we got there - getting out while the sun shines - he's certainly looking good these days.

Welcome and thanks for calling in, a beautiful day here in Adelaide, towels and sheets are drying on the line instead of the clothes dryer for a change. Also I forgot to say my heater finally has been fixed and the house is warm once more! Today Sandy and I went to our workshop at Shirley's, Doug went off for a ride on his gopher whilst we reeked mayhem at the dining room table! Michelle rang while we were there  - she's coming to SA with the family for a visit so that will be special - maybe we'll get to meet! Welcome, a glorious day today although the cold is starting to come in now, and no heater until at least Tuesday!!! Sandy and I went for our workshop with Shirley where we made three lovely cards - see below and for a special treat Sandy brought some homemade jelly cakes for afternoon tea - we were quite spoilt! Tonight we are having a Masterchef recipe for tea so I hope it works -  Emma will be the guinea pig as she starts work at 6 and will have to eat first.! Then I have to get my head around this week's LIM challenge " Feeling Fruity"

A bit of sun today - but all whilst I was at work! Leftovers for tea tonight so I am able to get this post up - should have been yesterday but I wanted to get my LIM entry made and posted so that won out!

Another cold day in Adelaide, but good to get out of the house to my regular card workshop at Shirley's, below are the card's we made today. We missed Sandy today and hope her bad back is on the mend and her grand daughters are feeling better. There are lots of great ideas on Shirley - Anne's blog so follow the link if you would like to see them, she always has "The Recipe" and doesn't mind if you would like to use them for inspiration! Sunday's are the regular night I have my parent's for dinner - so I'd better go and prepare, we're having Roast Beef and Bread & Butter Pudding for dessert (good food for a cold night!!)

Another cold day here in Adelaide, but nice and warm in Shirley's house, where Sandy and I went for a an afternoon card workshop! Doug watched the motor racing while we made cards, chattered and had a cup of tea. I am off to my Mum & Dad's for tea as my daughters working and Hubby is away overseas - so it's a good time to catch up.
