Sweet Tweet

A busy day  today  - sorting out paperwork, then off to do some shopping before heading off to Shirley's for an afternoon of craft. I haven't been for a a couple of weeks so I had six cards to make up and while I toiled away Shirley got out the Big Shot and did some die cutting. We had a great chat and a cup of tea - a perfect afternoon! I promised I'd try and get a card made this weekend - so while I was still in crafting mojo mood I decided to make a card for this week's Less is More Challenge. The theme is Houses - so I've used a free stamp set with a lovely bird house. I've matted the card on black to define it better in the scanner.

Recipe:
white card from stock
free stamp set from Australian Scrapbooking Magazine
SU Basic \black ink
lines drawn by Jane!

Last week instead of craft, Sandy and I went to the Adelaide Craft Fair and spent up big - yet again after saying we were just going to look!!! We shared the purchase of a beading kit that made up 4 small Christmas Wreaths so yesterday at craft we made one up, this is mine the little Santa Bell was an extra that I bought.

Let It Snow

Well, I can't believe it's been so long since I have blogged! We were away and then I caught a nasty cold which has left me rather flat and by the time I get home from work all I want to do is sleep!
We had our craft get together today - only three of us as the others were busy - but I managed to make a card for Annabelle Blog's Challenge and we celebrated Joyce's birthday. No craft next week as the annual craft and quilt fair is on and we are going to go to that.
We are off up the river this weekend and then to Mt Gambier to visit our daughter next weekend, so I will be missing my regular Friday craft class with Shirley - maybe she and Doug will go out to lunch instead!!

It is most unusual for me to make a card without stamping - but the cuttlebug was out on the table and the brain started whirring!!

Noel

Welcome, a beautiful spring day today - I hope it lasts for the weekend! Managed to get my car washed this morning so hopefully it will stay sparkly clean for a few days. Quite a chatty group at craft today  - although not much crafting - the girls are all into Twisted Text 2 on the iPad's and phones so that took up quite a bit of time!! Joyce and I plodded on and I made a card for this weeks Annabelle Blog Challenge. I had to leave early as I had to have a MRI - not the most pleasant of experiences and my back and neck were spasming from the arthritis the whole time -  I looked a wreck by the time they finished. Tonight I have to drive up to Mt Barker to pick up our dog Trevor, Emma is going to Melbourne for the holidays so her flat mate is bringing him back with her and then I have to pick John up from the airport as he has been away in Brisbane since Monday - no rest for the wicked!

Recipe:

Red & White card from stash

Stamp freebie called Tis the Season from Quick Cards

Ribbon and gold decals from stash

Gelly Pens and SU Real Red for colouring

I stamped the image onto the white card and coloured it, then re-stamped, coloured and cut out the letters NOEL and the Bow and 3d them to the base card, I used double 3d dots for the bow to give it extra height.

Thinking of You

Hi and welcome to new follower Gay from the UK, although quite cool today the sun was out so that's a blessing! I started the day going to the specialist - I had the first appointment and he was still 35 mins late, when I told his secretary I had other things on she just said well he's always running late so you shouldn't plan anything else! Not good enough!  I had to pick John up and run him back to work, then I went shopping, got the towels washed and dried, made spag bog and minestrone soup for the weekend and then settled down for an afternoon of craft with the girls. Sandy showed me a new game for the ipad called Twisted Text - I think I'm getting hooked! I also made a card for this weeks Less is More Challenge.

With Love

Hi, thanks for dropping by, after two glorious days on the weekend - yes the weather gods heard our calls for decent weather, we are back to foul weather again, very windy and lots of rain. Emma and her friend drove up from Mount Gambier last night and could barely see in some parts - thankfully they arrived home safely. We have had good news today - Emma had a job interview in Adelaide this morning and has been offered a year's contract in a school near our home, which she has accepted so no more 5 hour trips home!

Just the three of us at craft today, but as usual we chatted and crafted and had yummy cookies for afternoon tea!

On Your Bike

Another chilly day - although the sun did peep out for a while, I had an early chiro appointment and then did some shopping before heading off to Shirley's. We had a great afternoon, I made three lovely cards and Shirley caught up with some cuttlebugging. Doug is getting cabin fever due to the cold weather as he can't get out on the gopher - hopefully the weather will turn as it's the first day of Spring tomorrow! We were supposed to go up the river tonight but have decided to go in the morning as it will be very cold up there - which gave me the chance to make this card for John's dad for Father's Day.

I am entering it in this week's Annabelle Blog Challenge: absc053 - Sketch

Golden Christmas

Welcome and thanks for dropping by, I have been away in Melbourne with hubby and a group of friends - so no crafting or blogging for a while! We managed to escape the rain and hail in Melbourne last Thursday as we were in the pictures - but it was still very cold. I got myself a new wool coat, a couple of pairs of shoes and some new tops - so I was quite pleased. We had a lovely high tea at The Windsor Hotel and a couple of nice dinners out too.

Today was back to normal, although just three of us at craft today, but we chatted, embroidered, coloured and crafted. I made a card for this weeks:

Recipe:
white card from stash - matted on  black card for scan
Stamp from Kaisercraft in gold ink
Sentiment from Tapestry in gold ink
Gold stickers and corners from stash
1" Circle punch

There are dots on the tree and circles in the gold corners, and the sentiment is in a 1" circle sponged with gold.

I couldn't upload a picture through Google Chrome, but was able to do so using Internet Explorer.

Father's Day

Still cold here today, although the rain has stopped. I'm having a lazy day so I thought I'd make a card while watching some TV! I probably should be ironing or doing housework! This card is for my Father as Father's Day is in a couple of weeks.

Partridge in a Pear Tree

A very wintery day here in Adelaide,we had hail about an hour ago and the back yard was white! Now we just have the pelting rain and wind - even though the heater is on I still feel cold.

Just three of us at craft today, but we all got a little bit done, looked at some craft mags and had scones for afternoon tea. I made  a card for this weeks less is more challenge.

Furs and Feathers
As ever, please don't forget that white space and keep any embellishments to a minimum.

Best Wishes

Welcome, I've had a very busy week so no crafting until today! We had my mother's 80th birthday on the weekend and we had the family here for dinner on Saturday night including her brother and his wife who had flown down from Sydney for a few days and Emma came up from Mount Gambier for the celebrations. John left for Townsville the next day  and my son Matthew and his girlfriend left for New York for a holiday on Monday! I've been spending time with my parents and Uncle & Aunt - they are off home today and John flies in at 10.30 tonight so it's all go here!
Four of us at craft today, we spent some time going through some craft magazines and chatting before getting some craft done - all too soon it was home time and we hadn't even had a cup of tea so the kettle went on quickly and we had some nice cookies and a bit more chat!

The card I made today is for this week's Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge, John has the camera away with him and the scan didn't show the sentiment as the rosette was too high so the words were blurry -anyhow I used my phone to take the photo and emailed it to myself - so not the best but better than nothing:

Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge:

Recipe:

Rosette: 2.5cm x 30cm piece of DSP, scored at 0.5cm intervals using SU Simply Scored Tool, then folded and glued and glued to circle of card to keep it together (need lots of hands for this- or I did) then added brad.

Christmas Fairy

Welcome, thanks for calling in, not much sleep last night and an early start this morning saw me almost nodding off at craft this afternoon! Hubby John arrives home tomorrow - although his ute arrived today! Something happened to the gearbox  - luckily they were only 6km from Innamincka and it has been trucked home - they were travelling in a group so he and his friend Keith managed to squash into the other cars and continue the trip. Very chatty group today, I spent time looking for a stamp to show Anne, and as always it turned up just after she left - I must have looked two or three times in the box and couldn't see for looking!

Love in Pink

Welcome to new follower Therese, my house feels so cold even though the thermometer says it's not! My arthritis has been playing up and I've been a bit sore this week so even though John's away I haven't done any card making, I had x-rays and blood tests yesterday so hopefully by the time of my next appointment they might be able to offer me something new! Craft today was a very chatty group  - not much craft at first as we went through Kim's Avon catalogue - but we settled down and started creating, colouring, sewing etc, and then yummy cookies courtesy of Sandy for afternoon tea and then a few of us played Words with Friends for a while. I managed to get this card done for this weeks:

Three of anything that is, three colours, three images, three stamps, three words, the number three.... it's up to you, but don't forget the white space, a simple design and just one layer!

Candy Christmas

Thanks for stopping by, after seeing John off to the Simpson Desert for two weeks, I got stuck into some bookwork and then into a new book on the weekend, so card making took a bit of a back seat, I had dinner with mum and dad last night and stayed to watch Downton Abbey - my favourite show at the moment - it was running late so no time for cards either last night!

My  card for tonight is a Christmas card I'm entering into Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge

Snow Burst

Welcome, I've had a busy week with no time for blogging or craft until today, I've had Emma home and John is leaving for a trek across the Simpson Desert on Saturday so we have been shopping and cooking at night after work to get ready. This morning I had to go and find a flannelette sheet to make into a 'jelly bag' for inside his swag as the nights are mighty cold. Emma also left back for Mount Gambier this morning, there have been some big storms around the state today so I hope she has managed to miss most of it - it is a five hour drive which is a bit tiring on your own.

Just three of us for craft today, I managed to make a couple of Christmas cards and  I am entering this one in this weeks Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge - Say it With Snowflakes

Recipe:

White card and Navy card base.
I punched out snowflakes in 2 sizes then stuck them to white card lightly, brayered the card with SU Bashful Blue then removed the snowflakes leaving the white image. I then used a snowflake from SU Snow Burst and stamped randomly in SU Not Quite Navy.
Pale Blue Rhinestones were added to the white Snowflakes and Silver rhinestones to the navy snowflakes - the scan makes the colours a bit hard to see.
Sentiment was a free image from Simply Cards - stamped in SU Not Quite Navy

Less Is More

Welcome, even though the sun is out it is deceptively cold here today! I went over to  a craft shop on Unley Rd to use my voucher from last month's shop, to find that they don't open until 11 on Thursdays, then they were late opening so I wasn't impressed, as I had somewhere else to be before heading home for craft. I went and helped a friend with her workcover reconciliation before coming home for craft. A small group but we chatted, crafted and looked through some craft mags. I made a card for this weeks Less is More Challenge.

Take your inspiration from the Less is More Header

We love to see how many different ways this could be interpreted.
You could simply do a CASE of it or use any of the elements as your theme... a decorated frame, the music, the flourishes, the flowers, the sentiment, the colours, the little jewels, there's really quite a lot of scope to let your imagination roam.
If your link is somewhat tenuous however, we would like you to explain just what your inspiration was.

Birthday Tulips

Welcome and thanks for dropping by, another cold wet day here, but the sun did peep out for a few moments. Emma arrived home from Mt Gambier yesterday - a bit later than she hoped as there was a letter in her mail from the estate agent Friday night saying they were coming to do a rent inspection on the house next week and she was leaving for Adelaide on Saturday morning so she had to do cleaning instead of just tidying up,  she was exhausted after the five hour drive and then had to jump in the shower and go straight out to a friends 21st - she didn't quite make it to midnight but had a good time anyway - she caught up on her sleep today!! John and I went off to a fund rasing lunch at Sturt Footy Club with a group of friends - he stayed to watch the match and I came home and made this card for his mum's birthday. John is off to Brisbane for work tomorrow and is going to drive up to the Sunshine Coast where they are holidaying for a quick visit.

Footy Birthday

Miserable day here in Adelaide, lots of rain and cold as well. I had my hair dome early this morning and then I was off to the chiropractor for a bit of torture, my arthritis does not like this weather at all! This afternoon I visited Shirley for a craft workshop, we made three great cards which I will share another time, the time went very quickly and she had bought some lovely Jelly Cakes as a special treat to go with the cappuccino - she is becoming quite the barista!! I needed to make a card for a male friend who is into Aussie Rules but I could't find an image to use so I've gone with a rugby image and used his teams colours. I'm off to make some minestrone soup as it's Emma's favourite and she will be hungry after a five hour drive home tomorrow.

Time for Cake

Busy morning as I had to sort out our Super before June 30, I had trouble with Internet banking so I had to go into the branch - a pain in the neck! Then it was home to tidy up a bit before craft. We had a very chatty group and Sandy was most impressed with herself as she completed a card today - normally she just colours images in readiness! Sandy has found some lovely cookies which she has been bringing the last few weeks - a real treat! Joyce and Sandy had found a mag with great male stamps as the give away so I went down to Arndale and managed to get them after everyone had left, I'm looking forward to looking at it later.

I made a card for this weeks {lollipop Ladies} Challenge.

From Me to You

Back to normality today. John is off to Melbourne for the Home Show and I'm back at work, The fishing trip was a bit of a write off - John was sick and when he did fish, he didn't catch anything! However, I got a good bargain at Halls Gap in a little shop - I got a decorative tile and metal frame for $35 instead of $70 so I was quite pleased. I also stopped off in a little craft shop in Horsham and found some Graphic 45 Hampton Art Stamps I didn't have. It's our 33rd Wedding Anniversary in a couple of weeks so I thought I'd make a card for John.

Tonight's post is for this weeks Less is More Challenge

Crafting With Shirley

Thank for dropping by, we are away at Lake Fyans in Victoria for a trout fishing competition, for hubby John, he was really sick with a cold the first day so he didn't fish, but he has been out today so hopefully he catches a fish! The girls all got together and we have visited local shops and a winery and bought a few goodies! I haven't been able to craft so I am sharing the cards I made at my last workshop with Shirley .

Shiny & Bright

Second Post for today but I have to finish cleaning up (putting away all my crafting stuff) as hubby gets back from overseas tomorrow and I am going to Mum's for tea tonight.
This is my entry for this week's:

I scanned the card first, but you couldn't see the shine, then I took umpteen photos as it kept reflecting everything and you could see me in the silver!! This is the best of the bunch but still has some light reflected on the top.

Casing Delys

Quick post with my card for this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge, this is an unusual Challenge (for me anyway!) - you have to go to one of the Design Team - Delys's blog and case one of her cards / creations.

This week at Just Add Ink we are focussing on our very own Delys Cram. Delys is a very talented papercrafted who loves to scrapbook, make 3D projects and beautiful cards. She is also very generous in sharing her ideas and talents with others. So go on and check out Delys blog here, find something of hers that inspires you and then CASE her project

I have matted the card on black for the scan. I cut the fishtail out by hand and then whilst blog hopping last night Mary J had a cheats way of getting them perfect - see her tutorial here - I wish I'd seen it first! I think  I like Delys white on white version better, but this is for my teenage niece who is into pink and bling!

Hi There

Chilly day here, but I got to have a nice sleep in before getting up to do the chores and go shopping. I bought some new white card and also cut up some other card and then scored a heap so I have my card bases done for the next while. I had a nice chat with Emma who is in Mt Gambier - she is finishing off her reports this weekend and has to get the house tidy as her new flat mate is coming to stay for a couple of days before moving to Mt Gambier for next term.
I had to look out some old scrap-booking magazines for my parents as they have decided to scrap their overseas holiday from last year and wanted some ideas on layouts. I haven't done any scrapping since I started card making!

Birthday Blooms

Well after telling Sandy I hadn't had any problems with Blogger, I jinxed myself and after my post yesterday, it kept me in  designer mode and I don't think anyone could see my post. I ended up having to reboot my computer to get it working again - hopefully it won't happen tonight.

I spent the morning steam cleaning my kitchen tiles and grout with my new steamer - that's what happens when hubby is away and you watch late night TV and all that is on is infommercials!!! Anyhow, the floor and myself are totally steamed clean now!! This afternoon I went to Shirley's and we made three lovely cards which I will post later, had a good chinwag and some lovely slice for afternoon tea.

Today's card is for Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge - ac076 -   for once I am posting for this challenge at the beginning of the week not last minute!

Happy Birthday Wishes

Sorry for the week long drought! We were away for the long weekend and I found out that I had won the last Lollipop Ladies Challenge - Turkish Delight and the prize was to be a Guest Designer for a challenge - so I have been working on that card - to be revealed in July!!

After a very stormy night, today hasn't been so bad just very cold! I put the heater on early so the house would be warm for craft, it was a very chatty group today and Sandy brought some yummy Banana & Walnut Cake and Shortbreads for afternoon tea-  so all crafting stopped to partake!!

Hubby is away overseas for work, so I'm posting early as I am off out for supper with some friends tonight.

Celebrate

A sunny but cold day today, I was up early to go to Harbour Town as Emma had lost her name badge for work there when she was in town on Monday and someone had found it - so now it's in the post and on it's way back. She had sent me a photo of Trevor in his new coat - all snug and warm so I thought I'd share it with you!

More talking than crafting was done this afternoon at our craft group and Sandy shared the photos of her sons wedding. Sandy brought me the latest Docrafts magazine and the freebies gave me the inspiration for this card.
