Sunday at Shirley's

Thanks for dropping by,  another gorgeous day here in Adelaide, yesterday at Middleton we got to see six whales frolicking in the water and while we had lunch at The Flying Fish Cafe at Port Elliot there were children in the water swimming - and it's still winter!!!! Hubby John arrived home from Manila this morning, he'd finished his work so managed to get an earlier flight home, so I picked him up, put his washing on and went off to Shirley's for our craft workshop with Sandy.-  her hubby Adrian is also home from work interstate at the moment - so we felt a teeny bit guilty heading off (only a teeny tiny bit!!). Doug was off gallivanting around the suburbs in his gopher when we got there - getting out while the sun shines - he's certainly looking good these days.

These are the cards we made today - if you would like to check out Shirley - Anne's blog for some of these and other inspirational ideas please follow the link here.

For You

Thanks for visiting if you like what you see or have any helpful ideas please leave a comment - if your link is there I will come and visit you too.

I have had a craft free week this week, I was away last weekend for some R&R with some girl friends - we had a lovely relaxing time, visiting markets, shops etc at Victor Harbor and Port Elliot and went out for dinner as well. Then it was back to work and catching up with the washing and helping Emma get ready for a Quiz Night she was helping with. There was only Sandy and I for craft yesterday so we decided to be totally decadent and went to the pictures instead! We saw Horrible Bosses and had a good laugh!

Tomorrow Emma and I are off to Port Elliot to visit John's parents as she needs to take some photos for her Uni Project, hopefully we will also get to see some whales - there were apparently 6 down there today, and on Sunday Sandy and I are off to Shirley's for a crafting fix (for me anyhow)!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Today's card is for this weeks Come and Get it Challenge.

Biker Birthday

Thanks for stopping by, busy morning as I had to get the housework, shopping and ironing done before craft as I am going away on a girls weekend to Victor Harbor while the boys go golfing in Renmark - good split me thinks! There were six of us today so lots of chatter and some lovely Danish Pastries that Sandy bought for afternoon tea - spoilt rotten! Thanks to Sandy for suggesting these challenges - I was feeling a bit lost on what to do today so she suggested I checked them out, I've had the stamp for a little while now and hadn't used it yet - so it was an ideal opportunity to try it out.

Today's post is for two challenges - Red Back & White for the Come and Get it Color Challenge.

And for Cards for Men Challenge - Anything Goes

Challenge 17 - Anything Goes

We are ready for another challenge here at Cards for Men, and this time we have a really fun one for you:

For You

Second post for today, this card is for my entry into this weeks LIM Challenge.
ONE LAYER CARD

The special feature we would like to see this week is for you to
USE INK
** This does include ink pads **
...hopefully in a way you haven't tried before.... or using a favourite technique.
If you can avoid using the computer this week, that would be great, but we wouldn't want to to miss a week if the computer is your only method of card making.

Inks Used:
SU Old Olive
SU Basic Black
SU Real Red
SU Chocolate Chip
Base Card: SU Glossy White
Stamp: Kaisercraft Mini Stamp: Bunch
Sentiment: SU Asian Artistry

I stamped image onto card base, then took ink off stamp pad lids with my blender pen to colour in leaves and tree trunk, I used blender pen directly onto stamp pad for the hearts as I wanted a deeper colour. Then I stamped the sentiment underneath.

Sunday at Shirley's

Welcome and thanks for calling in, a beautiful day here in Adelaide, towels and sheets are drying on the line instead of the clothes dryer for a change. Also I forgot to say my heater finally has been fixed and the house is warm once more! Today Sandy and I went to our workshop at Shirley's, Doug went off for a ride on his gopher whilst we reeked mayhem at the dining room table! Michelle rang while we were there  - she's coming to SA with the family for a visit so that will be special - maybe we'll get to meet! We made three lovely cards today and if you would like to check out Shirley's blog for inspiration please do so here.

Little Boy Blue

Thanks for dropping by, today's post is a card I made after a demonstration night at Amelia's Crafts, the card was designed by Rhonda using a Le Suh 3D Image Sheet. All the papers, stickers and card are from Amelia's. I was so happy with the final card, I thought I'd share it with you, also on the sheet is a little girl in the garden which is also absolutely gorgeous. All my family are coming for dinner tonight as we are saying farewell to my parents who are off to England for 6 weeks (John's parents arrived back this week!) and celebrating a few birthdays as well! We also have a couple of Emma's friends staying with us from Victoria for a couple of days - so our house is rather busy!

Tricycle

Still freezing here in Adelaide, the heater repairman finally arrived yesterday and had been up in the roof all of five minutes when our area suffered an electricity blackout so he couldn't do the job! Now he's not sure if he can get back this week - don't you love them - not! Emma and I have been baking for her Uni Bake sale tonight, we've made Oat & Raisin Cookies, Chocolate Mud Cakes, Berry Frangipane Tarts and Jelly Cakes, and now before I fall into bed I thought I'd better get this post done.
This is my second entry into The Unstampabelles Wheels Challenge - using Spirelli this time.

Finally we have made it to Challenge #2 it is all about WHEELS.
The bonus Technique Theme is Spirelli, this is not a requirement but if you can add this to our main theme WHEELS you will get a bonus entry.
Video tutorial for Spirelli here.

Hole In One

Hi there, thanks for visiting, if you would like to leave a comment please do and leave your link as I would like to visit you too. Tonight's card is my entry for The Lollipop Ladies Biscotti Challenge. I'm on a roll with male cards - so here is another, I haven't added the sentiment yet as it could be for a birthday or father's day. Our house is still freezing - the technician promises tomorrow will be the day but I've heard this three times already - so I'll believe it when it happens - it's very hard cutting out when your fingers are freezing!

Challenge #26 - Biscotti!

Hello and Welcome to challenge 26! Have we got a tasty treat for you this fortnight... This time we want you to take your creative inspiration from that tasty nutty biscuit snack: Biscotti

and the added extra is to add some TEXTURE.

Card: Early Espresso & Crumb Cake from SU
Stamp: The Back Nine from SU
Ink: SU Chocolate Chip
Golf Bags have been stamped onto card base then restamped, cut out and 3d, edges of the card have been distressed, jute has been added for the added textural component, I was going to use a tee, but they were too thick.

Set Sail

Well, the weather turned foul so we didn't go to Goolwa, instead I have spent the weekend making curtains for John's boat - all finished thank goodness! Last night we went out to dinner with friends in the Adelaide Hills and it was very wet and foggy when we left - not a nice drive home - especially with a snoring spouse in the passenger side!! I have managed to make a card for this weeks LIM Challenge as my country is Australia our colours are Red, White and Blue. As Father's Day is coming up, I've made a male card.

This week it's time for another colour challenge and for your delectation this week, we have decided to ask you make a card  using the
COLOURS
of
YOUR NATION'S FLAG!

Card from Stock
Stamp - Set Sail from SU stamped in SU Pacific Point, I stamped off the larger image first as I wanted it to be a bit paler.

Skater Boy

Hi, thanks for dropping by, today's card is for this month's Unstampabelles Challenge, just a quick card as we are going to Goolwa for the weekend, so no card making and no Sunday afternoon at Shirley's! I've visited my mum for her birthday today and bought curtain fabric to sew some curtains for John's boat so card making might get a back seat for the next couple of weeks (we'll see!!). I have not used the Spirelli theme so no bonus entry, I might have to try that one for another entry later on.

No Stamps! This means no rubber stamps, no digital stamps, clipart or line art which includes pre-coloured versions.  This also includes sentiment stamps.
Due to graphic technology any entry with a graphic image will be subject to the Design Teams discretion and we will contact you if feel the entry does not meet the ethos of our challenge blog.

We still want everyone to have fun but just felt like we had to be a little more detailed in this rule.

Now a fun new addition to our challenges.
From now on we will be adding a Technique Theme to each challenge.   This is not a requirement for an entry but if you can give us a creation with the Challenge theme and the Technique theme you will be entitled to a bonus entry.  The Challenge theme must always be part of your creations.

***********************************************************

Finally we have made it to Challenge #2 it is all about WHEELS.
The bonus Technique Theme is Spirelli, this is not a requirement but if you can add this to our main theme WHEELS you will get a bonus entry.
Video tutorial for Spirelli here.
