Sunday at Shirley's

Welcome, a glorious day today although the cold is starting to come in now, and no heater until at least Tuesday!!! Sandy and I went for our workshop with Shirley where we made three lovely cards - see below and for a special treat Sandy brought some homemade jelly cakes for afternoon tea - we were quite spoilt! Tonight we are having a Masterchef recipe for tea so I hope it works -  Emma will be the guinea pig as she starts work at 6 and will have to eat first.! Then I have to get my head around this week's LIM challenge " Feeling Fruity"

If you would like to visit Shirley- Anne's Blog to see some of these and many other cards please follow the link.

Looking at You

Thanks for popping by, I can't believe I'm inside instead of outside soaking up some sunshine! Also our heater has conked out and I can't get a repair man until tomorrow - so the house is freezing - luckily I'm off out tonight to catch up with some friends, hopefully their heaters will be on!! We had our usual craft get together this afternoon caught up with each others news, looked at a craft mag one of the girls brought a long and made some cards, I made two with a new embossing folder I have just bought called cherry blossom, I have used Liquid Pearls for the first time - so they will have to get posted later when they are dry. This card is made using my favourite Hampton Arts Stamp Set - Vintage Ladies.

Christmas Trimmings

Another cold wet day here in Adelaide, but nice and warm in Shirley's house where Sandy and I went for our Sunday workshop, chat, afternoon tea and a special treat as afterwards we all went to Paper Flourish - and need I say all our purses were a little lighter when we left!!!

Tonight's card is my entry for this weeks Less is More Challenge.

We are now onto the fourth week in our rotation of challenges, so once more it's the turn for a recipe and this week it's a
BUTTON OR RIBBON
(or plurals thereof)

My card is based on a stamp I borrowed from Shirley, I cut the stamped ribbons off and stuck the tree down onto white card, I then sewed some ribbon into bows, stuck them down with sticky dots where the original stamped bows were and then stuck buttons in the middle.
Sentiment is form SU Contempo Christmas stamped in SU Real Red.
I embossed a line down each side but it is a little hard to see on the scan also it has scanned with a shadow.

Final Three!!!

These are my final three cards Shirley Anne's 50 Christmas Card's Challenge - after a rapid start I had slowed right off but this week sees me reach that final tally of 50!

These three cards are all made using card and bits and pieces from stock. My favourite is the black and gold one made using a gift tag, backed onto gold card, but it hasn't scanned very well. I have a friend who is very much into bags and shoes so this will be for her!

Music and Me

I would like to thank Dr Sonia for the blog award she has given me "My Blog has Style", I will pass this award on shortly! Dr Sonia's blog is full of inspirational tutorials - please follow the link and check out her blog.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, I love reading the comments and if your link is left I will endeavour to visit you too. Today is my wedding anniversary - 32 years!! so we are off to a Bastille Day  Celebration tonight - I must admit sometimes in the 32 years 'Off With Your Head' has
seemed quite appropriate!

After having the coldest day since 2008 the other day, Adelaide has turned on the sunshine today! After spending the morning visiting health funds to try and find the one that's best for my daughter, I came home to an afternoon crafting with friends. This afternoon I have made a card to enter into the current

SPOTLIGHT ON MASKING-
I'd like to see you using masking - This can be using a bought mask (or stencil), making your own, stamping your main image and masking over it before you do your background, using torn paper as a mask, but NOT a picture of a mask. I'd also like a short explanation of how you used your mask.

Card: SU whisper White
Background Stamp: Kazzazz Lucy's Stamps - stamped in SU Creamy Caramel
Girl Stamp: SU from Easter Blossoms - stamped in SU Chocolate Chip
Sentiment: SU Well scripted
Rhinestone embellishments from Stock

I stamped the girl image onto card first, then made a mask from paper (stamped image onto paper then cut just inside the image), placed that over the stamped image on the card, then stamped over the music stamp, I then peeled off the mask to show the stamp underneath.

Doug watched the motor racing while we made cards, chattered and had a cup of tea. I am off to my Mum & Dad's for tea as my daughters working and Hubby is away overseas - so it's a good time to catch up.

Celebrate You

Another cold winter day in Adelaide, I went shopping with my sister-in-law, then came home and tidied up some paperwork - (not that you can tell!). Today's card is for the new "Less is More Challenge"

These ONE LAYER CARD challenges
seem to come around so quickly and here we are once more with another. Many LIMettes are now much more comfortable with this type of CAS card and each month we have some stunning contributions.
For our challenge today we would like to see
SOMETHING WITH LEGS
This should give you plenty of scope, but please don't forget that we still need to see areas of white space and minimal embellishments on your entries.
