Sunflowers

Thanks for stopping by, tonight's post is an entry for this weeks "Less is More Challenge.'' My brother-in-law and his wife have come to stay for a few days and John and I are off to Melbourne on Wednesday for a few days with some friends to shop, go to the theatre and see some football ( I'll be shopping!). So no more posts until next week.

Our challenge this week is a
SKETCH
This is only the second time that we have had a sketch for one of our challenges. Once more it's very simple, but  hey, that's what our challenge is all about... and it could be interpreted in a variety of ways.
Your card doesn't have to be exactly this shape and the elements don't have to be circular, but the basic sketch should be recognisable.

Friends

Today Sandy and I had a lovely afternoon of crafting at Shirley's, Doug was there and is looking a lot better, he even went for a ride on the gopher. Today we made three cards and some card toppers, had a good chat,  a lamington and cup of tea! Mum and Dad are coming for tea so I thought I'd get this up quickly before they come - Roast Pork tonight!!

If you would like to know how to make these cards please check out Shirley's blog.

I hope you've had a great day too, thanks for visiting.

A Little Love

An early post today as I have my in-laws coming to stay the night before they leave for England tomorrow. This card is for CCM The Spotlight Challenge - with the Sentiment as the main focus.

"Our new challenge for you today has been set by Jenni and she would like to seeSENTIMENTS AS YOUR FOCUS.  This means that the sentiment is the dominant part of the card and not a secondary element."

I have just bought some new Nestabilities so I decided to use one of these for the sentiment, I've sponged the edge in same colour as the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by to look at my cards.

Another cold wet afternoon in Adelaide, luckily the morning wasn't too bad and I managed to get my roses pruned before picking up Sandy to go for an afternoon of card making at Shirley - Annes - as well as afternoon tea and a chat. After which we called into Paper Flourish and managed to deplete our bank accounts a little more! Today we made 3 lovely cards - if you would like to see how to make them please check out Shirley's blog via the link above.

On the Fly

Today has been cold and wet, but lots of inside things to do! I went to a Postie party (ladies fashions) at my friend Lieca's - managed to spend some money (how surprising) and then came home to make a card before heading off to dinner with another friend. We are both husbandless this weekend as our hubbies are fly fishing over in Victoria - so that became the inspiration for this card. Thank you for all the lovely comments on past posts and for taking the time to visit my blog, it is much appreciated.

Card: SU Chocolate Chip & Crumbcake
Ink: SU Chocolate Chip, sponged on distressed edges also.
Stamp: Su On the Fly

Poppies

What a busy night, this is my third post today, after seeing a call from Jacki on her blog for people to enter the Parchment Challenge on   Crafty Card Makers The Spotlight Challenge this fortnight, I decided to have a go - not having done parchment before I didn't have any, but it said you could use vellum which I had. I am also entering this card in Sir Stampalots Challenge for June - Poppies.
I download a free digi stamp from Beccy's Place and printed it onto a piece of vellum.
I coloured the design first with SU Real Red and Tombo 098 before embossing.
Added gold trim and sentiment from stock.

Sunday Funday

Another great afternoon at Shirley's today we made three lovely cards - to see how they are done please check out Shirley's Blog here. We also did a bit of cuttle bugging and used the copics (I'm not very good at blending!). Doug had a fall yesterday and hopefully is on the mend again - it hasn't affected his wit and sense of humour! As usual we finished with a nice cup of tea and treats - though I think Doug and Shirley's treat was at the beginning - as Sandy and I got them a chocolate thickshake!

Shirley tells me you are all still there from her view and that it happens occassionally - if anyone has any tips please let me know! Today I've had a busy day at work and we are going out to a Vietnamese Restaurant for dinner with our 2 children - not often it's just the four of us anymore! So I'm posting this card quickly before we're off.
