Three Green Trees

After a very busy weekend, it has taken until now to feel like doing anything! We had two dinners and a lunch and then my folks for tea on Sunday night, so needless to say I had to catch up with the ironing last night. Tomorrow is Emma's Graduation exhibition - so no more being a student!! Then I'm off to Melbourne for work until Sunday night - so probably no more posts until next week.
Tonight's post is for this weeks LIM Challenge - Colour Green.

So onto the challenge
It's the first week of the month and so once more it's a Colour challenge, this week we have chosen
GREEN
We're being kind, thinking that this challenge may allow you to catch up on any Christmas cards you may need to make... but of course any occasion card will be wonderful

Xmas Chockie Boxes

A glorious afternoon and what better way to spend it, than to have lunch and a craft shop tour with our Thursday craft group - as everyone is getting busy leading up to Christmas we decided to have our lunch early this year. We had a lovely lunch at Endue, then went to Paper Flourish and Craft Worm - have to go on lengthy detours due to the road works! Needless to say it didn't stop us spending up! My penance was doing the ironing when I got home - (I know Jacki - I used that word again!!!)

Thanks to inspiration from Merry's blog - I decided to follow her link to Kaye at Craft Mad's tutorial for card / chocolate boxes - I made one each for the girls in my craft group - I photographed them before I filled them - but you can get the idea. I had trouble with the tabs sticking down so I think I will have to try glue next time. Thanks again for the inspiration and the tutorial.

Burst of Bling

Back at work today after 2 1/2 weeks off - nothings changed - busy as ever - I think I'll sleep soundly tonight! The house is empty - John is off fishing and Emma has gone to dinner with friends, so I took the opportunity to get my card made before they get home, dinner was left over roast - nice and simple!

Tonight's card is for this week's LIM Challenge - A Bit of Bling. I have scanned on a black matt so that the edges show up better. It's hard to know when to stop adding bits - but I held myself back and stopped! I was going to add some bits in the corner or a silver frame - but that can be another day!

Sunday at Shirley's

Welcome to new follower Merry - you can check out her blog here. Thank you for joining my little band of followers! A beautiful day here in Adelaide, I visited a craft garage sale and picked up some ribbon and buttons and then went to Shirley's for craft - just the two of us today as Sandy was baby sitting her grand daughters. We chatted and crafted and had a couple of cups of tea and the time just flew - we finished off by doing some punches and die cuts for stock and for Shirley to send off to a friend. Tonight we had had my parents and a friend of theirs from South Africa for dinner so we had a roast, yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings - yum!

Please check out Shirley Anne's blog if you would like the recipe for some of these and other inspirational idea.

Challenge Catch Up

Well, we're back from our cruise and short stay in Singapore - it was a lovely relaxing time - a shame to spoil it all by coming back to be faced with all the washing and ironing but that's the penance I guess! It wasn't all without craft as they ran a scrap-booking and jewellry class on board so I managed to go to both of those. I had my usual Thursday craft group today so it was good to catch up with all the girls, although my mojo deserted me and I had all sorts of trouble with stamping and when I finally got an image I liked I was stamping the sentiment and the stamp fell off the block and ruined the card - grrr! I persisted and came up with 2 cards, one for this weeks Less is More Challenge and one for Cards for Men.

Almost Home

We are now in Singapore, staying in a lovely hotel along with John's brother and his wife, it absolutely bucketed down today, but luckily cleared tonight as we did the Night Zoo tour. Our cruise was great and we met some lovely people, we had a reunion / farewell for the people on our dinner table at Raffles Hotel last night as everyone was staying on for a few days in Singapore - you would have had to mortgage the house if you had more than one drink - needless to say we made them last! Home on Wednesday, the time has gone very quickly.

Xmas Gold

Well one more sleep and we're off on our Cruise - hopefully all goes well as we've not  been on one before. We get on the boat in Hong Kong and cruise through Vietnam to Singapore where John's brother and his wife are meeting up with us for three days before we head back home. I had a busy morning doing last minute jobs, before craft - very chatty group today - topped off  with scones, jam & cream for afternoon tea! Once everyone left I had to pack and do some last minute ironing! - Catch up with you all in two weeks.

Tonight's card is for this weeks Cards for Men Challenge - It's Nearly Christmas.

Birthday Blooms

Thanks for dropping by, I had a very early start at work this morning as I had to fit a days work in before going for more tests - the results were better than I thought but I still have an abscess that will require 2 months of antibiotics - so no drinks for me on our upcoming cruise - hopefully they make some mocktails! We will be away for the next two weeks from Friday so there will be no card posts or challenges for that time - I will certainly miss crafting and catching up with everyone.

This is my entry for this weeks LIM Challenge. I've used a new stamp from Stampendous called Daisy Vase - I was going to add rhinestones to the centre of the flowers but I didn't in the end - do you think I made the right decision?

Week 40

Remember, remember the 5th of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot!
In the UK it is traditionally on 'firework night' that the 'Gunpowder plot' of 1605 is
commemorated. It was then that Guy Fawkes was arrested for laying explosives under
the House of Lords.

Our first week of the month is another Colour challenge and redolent of bonfire flames we
have chosen

Merry Christmas

A late post for me, we have been away up the river for the weekend with some other boaties - we stayed at Caudo's Winery near Hogwash Bend - very pleasant spot! We got home to find that my parents-in-law were staying the night - so we had to unpack and tidy up quicksmart. We all popped out for dessert at daughter Emma's workplace Devour Desserts then came home and had to whip up a couple of Xmas cards for MIL to send to England and then I managed to get this one done for this weeks Annabelle Stamps Challenge - Sentiments.

Engagement Wishes

A beautiful day, went to a craft fair with Sandy - spent up big and just as we were about to leave bemoaning the fact that our favourite stand from Queensland wasn't there - we found it!!! Needless to say more plastic was melted! Then we realised we were supposed to be back for craft in 15 mins so we had to put our skates on. I only had an hour at craft as I had to have some tests done - so I left the girls to it and wouldn't you know it they were running half an hour late - not impressed.

I started this card before I left and finished it when I got home, I am entering it in this weeks Annabelle Stamps Challenge - Bling Sketch . My friends Kwan and Alex announced their engagement last night so this is for them.

Sunday at Shirley's

Just a quick post today to show what Sandy and I made at Shirley's workshop this afternoon, it's been a pretty exhausting week and we have to call in and see my parents as my brother and his family are visiting so we can have a quick catch up. When I got home my daughter was making fake blood as all the staff at her work are dressing up for Halloween! They are not open tomorrow night - so they are getting in the spirit (pardon the pun) tonight.

My daughter Emma - would you let her make you a coffee? - Devour Dessert Bar Prospect Rd, Prospect SA.!

Holly Bird

A lovely day here in Adelaide, I was off to the shops nice and early as I had to find a cocktail dress to wear on the cruise we are going on soon - not something I normally wear, but apparently pants and nice tops are not acceptable formal wear! Success was had and even better the shop had buy three items get the cheapest free - so you can't beat that! Very chatty craft group today - a message from Joyce who is on holiday (we miss you!) - she will be back from her travels next week so it will be great to get her news - she keeps up with us by looking at Sandy's and my blogs! Scan is a little wonky but after the 4th attempt I lost patience! My arthritis is playing up and my massage lady cancelled - so I am off to take some thing for the pain and have a lie down!

Today's post is for this weeks Christmas Challenges {with sketches} Challenge. Part of the rules is that you do not post the challenge on your website only the link - so if you would like a Christmas Challenge please follow the above.

Best Wishes

Thanks for dropping by, I had a very busy weekend, no time for craft - so no card making was done - I am running very behind with challenges for this week! We were up on the river for the weekend - we cruised to Mannum and stayed overnight and had tea at the Mannum Club with a few other boaties, before leaving on Sunday morning and cruising to Pompoota for a gathering of the Wooden Boat Owners Association - a beautiful day and a large number attended both by boat and car. We have my sons birthday dinner on Friday night and friends coming for dinner Saturday night so I don't know how much card making I'll get done - but where there's a will there's a way!!

Tonight's card is for this weeks LIM Challenge - Polka dots.

With Love

After yesterdays sizzling 34, we have had a cooler day and some drizzle this afternoon. No post yesterday as I had to help Emma make things for her bake sale at Uni - not a good time to be cooking when it was so warm but we managed. Up early this morning as the guys came to install our solar panels - very noisy with  a radio on full pelt but they were finished by the time Ann arrived for craft. Sandy is still not well - so here's hoping she gets better soon! Today's card is for this weeks Annabelle Stamps Challenge - Embellished Corners, I'm just scraping in with this one as it finishes soon and also to Scrapbook Boutique's Challenge which is only open to Australian Residents.

Another busy day, Emma had been at Uni all day and I had been working so we decided to go out for tea and had a lovely Asian meal in North Adelaide, followed by a little shopping.

Welcome to new follower, Nellie you can check out her blog  - here - it has a translate to English button at the top.

My card for tonight is for this weeks Come and Get it Challenge - A Sketch.

It's sketch week. So make a card or anything else, as long as we can see the sketch in the project that's good. Here is the sketch followed by our Design Team Members. Oh by the way, you can change the shape of the elements if you wish, so if your main image is a square that's okay too.

Sunday at Shirley's

Another lovely day - although a cool start, Sandy and I went off to our Sunday Workshop at Shirley's; making three lovely cards and having a nice cup of tea and cakes! Then we helped Shirley with her computer before heading home. I managed to dead head the roses and cut back my triffid of a hibiscus before heading off to my parents for dinner - it was great to catch up and see the photos from their trip overseas. John rang while I was there - he and a friend are on a boating trip and they had just made a loaf of bread in the camp oven when he rang!

Xmas Scoop

Early post today - thanks for stopping by. It has been a day of all seasons, wind, rain and sun - very blustery. This morning my friend Sandy & I went to a Craft & Gift Fair - needless  to say - we managed to spend some money. I found a funny Christmas sentiment stamp and I thought of this weeks Cards for Men Challenge - Make Us  Laugh - so that was enough to make me buy it. No one was home when I got back so, I got stuck in! I hope it makes you smile too!

With Love

Got home and popped over to LIM to check out this weeks Challenge - Heart / s - One Layer card, so I thought I see what I could come up with!

Being the second week of the month it is One Layer

An easy one for you it's

The  can be singular, multiple, any colour, but, MUST be a one layer card, with no aditional layers stuck on, apart from the odd embellishment or ribbon!

First I stamped the sentiment in SU Real Red, then I used my Cuttlebug - E/F Kimmy Luvvs.
Next I coloured in 3 little hearts in SU Real Red and as the folder doesn't reach to the bottom of the card I added 3 rhinestone hearts to finish off. I have scanned using a black mat behind to show off the white card better.
